Quick Cinnamon Treat Recipes

Somehow everything about cinnamon just screams winter. Depending if your treat of choice is something easy to make such as cinnamon latte, or something a bit more demanding like cinnamon rolls, cinnamon is always a good idea.

So, without further ado, here are some of our favorite cinnamon-based recipes:

How it’s made:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
  • Cream together butter and sugar.
  • Mix in egg and molasses, blending well.
  • Mix flour, baking soda and cinnamon; add to creamed mixture, mixing well.
  • Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes.

Cinnamon Twists

What you’ll need:

  • 1 pound fresh pizza dough, store bought
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

How it’s made:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Roll, press, and stretch the dough into an 8-by-10-inch rectangle. Starting along the short edge and using a sharp knife, slice the dough into eight 3/4-inch-wide lengths.
  • Whisk together the sugar and cinnamon in a shallow dish. Brush all sides with melted butter and roll in cinnamon sugar. Twist the ends in opposite directions, then transfer to a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Let rest 10 minutes. Bake 18 to 20 minutes

Cinnamon Sugar Waffle Fingers

What you’ll need:

  • 1 frozen waffle
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon

How it’s made:

  • Cut the frozen waffle into sticks (½ inch thick). Melt the butter with the sugar and cinnamon in a medium skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the waffle sticks and cook, turning often, until caramelized and crisp, 2 to 3 minutes.

Winter Cinnamon Latte

What you’ll need:

  • 1 cup of filtered water
  • 1 tsp of cinnamon
  • 1-2 Tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 cup of hot coffee
  • 2 Tbsp cream, OR ½ cup milk

How it’s made:

  • To make a cinnamon syrup, combine combine water and cinnamon in a small saucepan. Heat on very low heat for 5 minutes, whisking often.
  • Remove from heat. Pour cinnamon syrup into a glass jar and store sealed in the refrigerator.
  • To make a latte, combine 1 Tbsp of cinnamon syrup with 1 Tbsp of maple syrup plus remaining ingredients. Add additional maple syrup if you like it sweeter.
