Let’s Talk Of Beauty-full Spain!

Don’t you love everything Spanish? I, for one, absolutely adore everything about Spain… their culture, their food and especially their people. Who doesn’t go weak in the knees at the sight of a gorgeous Spanish beauty? Here is your chance to get that Spanish perfection for your skin- let’s take our mySkin beauty bus to Espanol 🙂

Papaya: Spanish people use a lot of papaya in their skin care recipes. This fruit is a very rich source of Vitamin A and papin making this pulpy fruit very rich in anti oxidants. Papin also helps in the skins exfoliation process. All you need to do is rub the papaya peel on your face and then wash it off after five minutes. The AHA’s present in the papaya gently exfoliate your face, help in removing dark spots, blemishes, evens your skin tone and brings a glow to your face.

Manzanilla: Known popularly as Chamomile, Manzanilla has found itself to be a part of Espanol skincare for long. The anti microbial properties of Chamomile soothe irritated skin and also treat eczema. The flavonoids assist the body in its healing and protect it from premature aging. Combine 2 tablespoons of brewed chamomile tea, 2 teaspoons of aloe vera gel, 2 teaspoons of Vitamin E cream, 4 tablespoons of raw honey and 1 drop of essential geranium oil. Apply on your face and neck and leave it on for 20 minutes and rinse off with cold water. This pack  restores your skins natural oil balance leaving it feeling refreshed!

Castile Soap: Use olive oil to make your own Castile soap. These soaps originated in the sixteenth century and are pure olive oil soaps with very few ingredients and are used very extensively across the country. The main ingredients in this soap are olive oil and lye. Take 40 oz of olive oil, 10 oz of coconut oil, 16 oz of water, 7 oz lye and a few drops of essential oil (optional).  Stir the lye into water and leave it to stand till the temperature of the water reaches 100 Fahrenheit. Now, heat the coconut oil separately till it melts. Mix the olive oil to this coconut oil and then carefully add the lye mix to the oils. Using an electric blender give this concoction one final whizz for a minute. Pour your soap mix into moulds and take out once it hardens after approximately 24 hours. Slice the soap into bars and leave to stand for around four weeks. After that you can enjoy the benefits of your natural Spanish soap!

Saffron: Saffron is grown extensively in Spain and finds its way easily into skin care recipes. Saffron is very rich in Vitamin B and is anti inflammatory. It rejuvenates your blood and helps in maintaining skin health. To make a cleansing and purifying face pack with saffron take 2-3 strands of saffron and 4 tablespoons of cold milk. Soak the saffron in the milk and when the milk becomes a vibrant orange color gently massage your damp face in slow circular motions. Leave it to dry for 10 minutes and then rinse off to reveal the saffron glow on your skin!
