Open your windows and let the shining sun come through. Is that a daisy? Can you hear the birds chirping? Just look at all that fresh dew around. What a day! Lock away those coats, boots, scarves, and muffs! Put away that creamy moisturizer and the sticky petroleum jelly for another winter. It’s time to get your shorts and floral dresses out. Even those strappy sandals!
Spring is the season of change. Rejuvenation and renewal is what your skin craves for after a long cold winter. Here are five tips to a renewed “spring” skin care.
Renewed Spring Skin
The weather is getting warmer, more humid, and less cold. Your skin is likely to sweat more. This makes it oilier. Little changes in your daily regimen will make all the difference.
Tip: Try tinted moisturizers with an SPF that are lighter on your skin.
Reshuffle your makeup bag
Your look that rocked the winters is not going to shine through spring. Look through your makeup bag. Replace all that heavy cream-based makeup and dark shades with water-based sheer foundations, lighter shades of pinks peach, orange, and brown and opt for gel-based cleansers.
Tip: Toss out any makeup that’s been lying around for more than a year. It could cause skin irritations and rashes.
Reapply that sunscreen
The sun is shining brighter and warmer. Therefore, while you are just waiting to get into your shorts and tees, those UV rays can do serious damage to your skin like sunburn, premature aging, and uneven tanning. Applying and reapplying sunscreen will keep your skin protected and fresh.
Tip: Opt for a moisturizer with a minimum 30 SPF.
Replenish yourself with more water
More warmth. More sweating. More de-hydration. Your skin is going to need more water.
To keep your body hydrated from the inside out, drinking a minimum of eight glasses of water daily is important. You will look fresher than ever.
Tip: Try natural fruit juices. They are the best way to up the intake of water and boost energy.
Revamp your diet
Time for a food makeover. Enhance your diet with seasonal fresh vegetables and fruits. Vitamin E, A, C, and K supplements will work wonders as well as fresh fruit juices and green smoothies.
Tip: Eat more colored fruits and veggies. They are choc-a-block with antioxidants. Fish rich in Omega 3 fatty acids are great skin food.
Dahlings, Spring is a great time to pamper your skin. Is that a spring in your step already 🙂
