Want your skin to glow for Valentine’s Day? You still have two days left to get your skin looking its best for the Cupid’s Day! Here are some of Dr. Agnes’ quick tips on DIY treatments designed to provide you with instant results especially good for troubled, acne prone skin. These treatments are good for all types of complexion both women and men.
Take your Skin to the Spa (at Home!) Try to do the following treatments at least twice before Tuesday, and in this order; steam first, followed by the astringent, lastly the rejuvenation.
Steam Bath: Steaming is very good to keep skin clean and blemish free, as it can remove excess sebum and dirt and deeply cleanse clogged pores. It also allows the black heads and whiteheads to be pushed out easily and therefore avoid pimples. Steam will also improve circulation, giving you a healthy glow. Do the steam facial once before Valentine’s Day, but NOT on the big day.
Herbal Astringent: Close your pores with this all-herbal astringent. There are many herbs with astringent qualities, but chamomile is especially good as it has strong antiseptic qualities, yet is delicate on the skin. If your face is very oily, you can combine yarrow and chamomile. Another alternative is to use sage (with the chamomile), which is cooling and soothing to the skin.
Oatmeal Facial: Nourish your skin with the following recipe. It makes a great nourishing and softening facial for ALL skin types. It creates a silken effect on the skin. Use it on Valentine’s Day. You can use this mask before every big occasion, and normally 2-3 times a week. If you use the steam bath, alternate the facial on the other days. This treatment should be done 2-3 hours prior to leaving your home.
Pore Minimizing Mask: If your pores are enlarged as a result of acne try the following mask to minimize them. Do NOT use on the same day when you use the nourishing oatmeal mask or when you actually have cysts or severe acne. You can however use it after steam bath and herbal astringent.
Remember! Do not squeeze any pimples – you will injure your skin just in time for your big date! Do not try a new cosmetic and make up routine. What if you are allergic to it? For the next few days, keep drinking a lot of water, and try to limit sugar drinks and spicy food.
